Next year Malta will be hosting the 10th InClassica International Music Festival, inviting for the first time in the island’s history 41 of the world’s most renowned and respected musicians from 24 countries in a celebration of classical music lasting almost a month.

In the midst of a musical drought, there’s nothing we’re looking forward to more than experiencing live music once more.

And InClassica is offering 25 consecutive days of just that, when six international and prestigious orchestras, together with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Malta Youth Orchestra and numerous world-renowned soloists descend on the historic Mediterranean Conference Centre next year between 17th April and 11th May. A truly unique event!

The InClassica Festival is organized by the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC) and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for music lovers to bear witness to a highly unique and breathtaking festival, featuring a rotation of orchestras performing some of the most exciting and beautiful classical pieces from Beethoven to Mozart alongside contemporary pieces from the festival’s Composer-in-Residence, Alexey Shor.

More than just a musical concert, InClassica is an eclectic musical experience, an observatory where one can observe stars in the sky…except in this case these stars represent some of the very best musicians from the four corners of the globe.  Triple Grammy Award winner, pianist Martha Argerich; clarinet Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra soloist Andreas Ottensamer, 7 times ECHO Klassik Award winner violinist Daniel Hope, Emmy and ECHO Klassik Award winner Danielle De Niese and many, many more.

Moreover, they’ll be joined by some of the finest orchestras in the world:

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (UK), Liège Royal Philharmonic (Belgium), State Philharmonic Orchestra Of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany), Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (Israel), and Russian National Orchestra that will perform for the very first time in Malta together with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and, of course, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Malta Youth Orchestra.

“On behalf of myself and everyone at the EUFSC I wish to convey how excited we are to be bringing such a high-quality event to Malta. This Festival marks an important turning point in Malta’s cultural history as it signals the country’s emergence as a new centre for classical music in Europe. We are confident that InClassica will bring to Malta an unprecedented number of cultural tourists who, as well as being drawn here by the programme of stellar talent, will of course be attracted by the fantastic range of seasonal, cultural and historic points of interest the country has to offer. We hope the Maltese population and resident international citizens will greatly enjoy and benefit from the musical events taking place, and share in our happiness and pride at being able to provide a home for this truly unique and special event.” – Konstantin Ishkhanov, President of the EUFSC.
