Condom Gloves And Cocaine Straws: Maltese Cartoonist’s Tips For ‘Drug Taking And Courting In Time Of Corona’
Controversial topics are definitely not something that artist and political cartoonist Seb Tanti Burlò has ever shied away from, but sometimes, something really does manage to shine even brighter amidst all the genius satire.
In a time where the Coronavirus has infiltrated every aspect of life, art has predictably followed suit, but for Burlò, it looks like this is the perfect time to shine a light on some of Malta’s more notorious pass times.
In a series of images shared on Instagram this week, Burlò shared tips on Drug Taking Etiquette and Courting ‘n’ Fucking in the time of Corona, and they’re… well, exactly that.
From using your own coke-straw and not passing around a joint as much to bringing your own k-spoon since it “doubles as a fashion accessory”, the satirical pieces shine a light on Malta’s unspoken – but very real – drug culture.
As for the Courting ‘n’ Fucking tips which followed a couple of hours later, Burlò had a fresh batch of advice that ranged from getting your own win bottle on a first date to Netflix and chilling a metre away from each other.
Oh, and if you don’t want to go full gimp on your partner for maximum effect, at least don’t forget my new favourite slogan; no glovin’, no lovin’.
At a time where most of the news is doom and gloom, we really do need someone like Burlò to put a smile on our faces.
