WATCH: Konrad Mizzi ‘Overwhelmed’ By Victory And Brushes Off European Parliament Criticism
Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi has said he was “overwhelmed” by the Labour Party’s historic landslide victory as he brushed off the heavy criticism he has received from the European Parliament.
Mizzi, who has been the subject of many European Parliament rule of law reports, was asked by Lovin Malta whether the result meant more to him given the context.
“It’s a free world and everyone can write whatever they want. From my perspective, my focus is continuing the growth, change, and introducing legislation that the public care about,” he said.
Seemingly unfazed by whatever has been said on the European stage, Mizzi said that he would keep his focus on continuing the government’s “process of change.”
“The result gives us the courage to continue” he said.
He did concede that “there are a number of things [the government] needs to address like open spaces, the environment, raising pensions, and the conditions for workers.”
