Traffic Jams And Congestion All Over Malta As Drivers Resort To Reading Books As They Wait
Life in Malta pretty much means an eternity of being stuck in traffic, waiting for traffic, or checking ahead of time for traffic, be it during morning rush hour, evening rush hour, lunchtime, or pretty much any hour of the day.
However, an unusually large amount of congestion hit the island today, testing an already tense nation.
It is being reported that road closures in Marsa lead to the widespread backed-up traffic hitting several localities and major and arterial roads.
One lane of Aldo Moro road was closed in the direction of Fgura, exacerbating the situation.
Traffic jams have been reported everywhere from Birkirkara to Mrieħel to Marsa to Msida amongst many other localities.
While some drivers took to social media to vent the time wasted sitting in a car today, others took a slightly more light-hearted approach.
One woman said it took two and a half hours to drive from Mrieħel to Ħamrun to Birkirkara, while another said she spent 50 minutes to get from Qormi to Santa Venera.
It got so bad that even timely and relevant satirical jokes could barely make the pain go away.
Malta remains congested at time of publishing, so here’s hoping that you’ve got a nice book with you if you are stuck in your vehicle.
