Powerful gusts of wind and bouts of heavy rain battered Malta over the last couple of weeks, but now, it seems like the islands could be in for a well-deserved break. However, don’t get too used to the warmer, sunnier weather; there’s more winter in store for us.

Today’s mainly sunny start to the weekend will persist, with highs of 18°C being complimented by mild northerly winds of Force 2 and 3. Lows this evening will still hit a rather cool 10°C, but tomorrow should be another relatively warm day… if not slightly cloudier.

Sunday, however, is where the weather might slowly start reverting back to wintery. And on the last day of the week, isolated showers and Force 3 to 4 winds will be heralding in a wet couple of days.

Temperatures might also start getting colder again as of Sunday evening, so get ready to make the most of this not-so-rainy weekend before January’s penultimate week.
