WATCH: Roberta Metsola Will Ask For Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s Immediate Resignation During EU Delegation Meeting, Rest Of Group Expected To Do The Same

MEP Roberta Metsola has said she will ask for Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s immediate resignation during an European Parliament delegation meeting, with the rest of the delegation expected to do the same.

“You’ll see,” Metsola told Lovin Malta when asked whether the entire delegation will ask Muscat to step down immediately.

The delegation comes to Malta following the outbreak of a political crisis in the country.
While Yorgen Fenech has been arrested and charged with the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, there are serious questions over the involvement of the Prime Minister’s former Chief of Staff Keith Schembri and Muscat himself.

A photo of Schembri and the middleman in the assassination, Melvin Theuma, has already emerged, while a handwritten note by Theuma naming Schembri and Fenech was published this morning.

Muscat entered into Castille before the delegation in silence, facing jeers from a small group of protesters gathered outside Castille.

Despite the very small number of people, a heavy police presence has still descended on the area and erected gates all around the square.

Lovin Malta will go live with the European Parliament delegation after their meeting.
