A 22-year old Sudanese man has been charged with sexually harassing a teenager on public transport and following the 19-year-old off the bus. 

According to MaltaToday, Adam Saleh sat near the teenager on 21st June and touched her leg. The woman left the bus in an attempt to evade the man. The court heard how Saleh continued to follow her and tried to grab her breast near Skyparks Luqa.

The 19-year-old called out for help and escaped the accused, following which her parent arrived on the scene.

Although the accused initially escaped the scene, he was found and identified shortly after the area was patrolled. Police then arrested him.

Saleh remains in police custody and no bail was requested.

A magisterial inquiry has been launched led by Magistrate Josette Demicoli whilst lawyer Victor Bugeja was legal aid.
