Malta Rescues 69 Asylum Seekers From A Wooden Boat In Distress

Malta has taken in 69 asylum seekers after they were found on a wooden boat in distress, the Malta Armed Forces has confirmed.
The AFM said the migrants were rescued by its AFM Patrol Vessel P51 from a wooden boat in distress some 117 nautical miles south-west of Malta. THe rescue vessel will convey them to the Hay Wharf later this afternoon.
The AFM’s statement didn’t include any detail of the gender or nationality of the asylum seekers on board.
