Malta’s Health Authorities have announced 21 new cases of COVID-19 together with 87 new recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases down to 471.

32 additional migrants have been identified as being COVID-19 positive over the past 24 hours.

It is the sixth consecutive day where there are more recoveries than new cases resulting in a decrease in active cases.

Today’s cases are still being investigated, however, from yesterday’s cases two were family members of previously-known cases, two were direct contacts of other patients, four cases were work colleagues of COVID-19 patients and four cases were contacts from social gatherings.

Today’s numbers come after a total of 2040 swab tests were carried out over the past 24 hours, slightly more than yesterday.

As such, the total number of overall cases is now 1883 with a total of 1400 recoveries.
