Malta has since yesterday gained 46 new cases of COVID-19 and 48 new recoveries.

This puts the total amount of active cases right now at 664 and the total amount of cases since the virus hit in March at 1751.

This is the second day where the amount of recoveries supersedes the number of new cases which results in a lower amount of total active cases.

From these new cases, six were found to be family members of previously-known cases, two were direct contacts of a previous case, five were traced back to being work colleagues of other patients, four were classified as imported and two were contacts from people at social gatherings.

A total of 2185 swab tests were carried out now putting the total number of tests at 179,703.
