Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) will be joining Malta’s police forces to investigate the carbomb murder of Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

In what was an attempt to appease both sides of Parliament, Joseph Muscat said that they would not rest until the investigation was complete, and that he has called on international support into this investigation. He hoped that by bringing in the FBI from the USA, he would be finding a solution to make both the opposition and the government happy.

Joseph ended his comments in Parliament by extending an arm to the Leader of the Opposition by asking him to come with some of his most trusted colleagues to speak with him privately after the Parliamentary session.

However, Adrian Delia took a different approach, stating that “what happened today was not just a normal murder, it was a total collapse of rule of law.”

He also stated that this tragedy happened under a Labour government’s watch, and that “the only person who is solely responsible for what has happened is Joseph Muscat.”

Delia stated that the “rule of the jungle” had taken over and that this was an “assault on our liberties” as a nation.

Marlene Farrugia didn’t hold back either as she blamed both Muscat and Delia for what had happened, and noted that even though she didn’t know Caruana Galizia that well, having only spoken to her a few times, that they both had the same interest in trying to do what is right for the country.
