A Żurrieq local councillor has pledged to find the people that dumped a mattress on a picturesque street in his locality, vowing to get personally involved and name and shame the culprits behind the crime.

“I’m not going to lose heart that these dirty individuals are eventually caught and get what they deserve,” Kenneth Farrugia said in a Facebook post over the weekend.

“Do not think that nothing’s being done so that these cowards don’t continue littering. Time will tell. I am ready to personally do the rounds in our village and those that are caught, you will know who they are because I’m going to share their names everywhere,” Farrugia continued.

He called for anyone with information about the litterers to get into contact with him, swearing to protect their identity and saying that he would personally use the information to report the litterers.

The mattress in question was dumped on Triq il-Belt Valletta, Żurrieq.
