Former PBS Chief Gives Patronizing Opinion Against Abortion: ‘Have Some Patience, Mrs Vagina’
Former PBS chief executive officer John Bundy has made it pretty clear he is against abortion, using extremely patronising terminology to explain why women should be responsible for using contraception if they don’t want to get pregnant.
Posting scientific diagrams of the penis and the vagina to stress his point, Bundy said that nature encourages those two organs to “exercise their sexual right with each other, reproduce and and have fruit”.
“Therefore, Mrs Vagina, when you feel like exercising this sexual right that’s called penetration, have some patience and either insert a contraceptive coil into yourself or tell Mr Penis to wear a condom or dress him with it yourself. That way, you will be covered if you don’t want the fruit.”
“Meanwhile, Mrs Vagina, stop telling us that you must exercise your right to commit a crime for health reasons, because we aren’t fools or idiots and we’ll oppose you with all our strength.”
Bundy, one of Malta’s most popular TV presenters, was appointed head of the national broadcaster in 2016 but was sacked around a year later after an internal audit found he had breached procurement regulations. During his tenure, he faced two cases of alleged sexual harassment by his staff, but he vehemently denounced these allegations, going as far as to swear on his father’s grave that they were a lie.
His tirade against abortion comes a few days after a group of NGOs teamed up to form ‘Voice for Choice’, Malta’s first-ever pro-choice coalition, to lobby for the legalisation of abortion.
