From the 26th till the 29th of April, Teatru Malta will be performing an exciting new play, Is-Serra, by acclaimed playwright Harold Pinter. Beyond its entertainment purposes, however, this work was specifically chosen to raise awareness for mental health in Malta.

With mental health often being one of the main talking points in Malta over the last couple of months, the aim of Is-Serra is to continue prompting a discussion with the public to improve conditions of local mental healthcare.

Focusing on authoritative corruption within institutions, is-Serra will also tackle treatments used on patients which are somewhat unorthodox.

Directed by André Agius, the play will take place at the Mount Carmel Community Theatre.

The cast will have a number of familiar faces among which are Victor Debono, Anthony Ellul, Maria Buckle and Joe Depascuale.

Is-Serra’s first of four shows is on the 26th of April. For more information on the play and showtimes, check out the official Facebook event page.

25% of the ticket sales will be donated to the Richmond Foundation Malta.
