Missed Nuance, a film by Niv Novak, features a number of top designers and dancers from around the Australia

Featuring elite dancers from The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Theatre, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Queensland Ballet and Projection Dance, Missed Nuance uses ultra-slow motion photography to slow down time and ultimately reveal the mesmerising and hypnotic spectacle of dance movement.

Novak, the artist behind the film, spoke about the concept’s hope to dive behind traditional films and photography, saying, “while photography reveals instants of such beauty, Missed Nuance captures it all.”

Speaking to the media of the film’s release, Jason Grech had this to say: “I’ve been in the fashion industry for over two decades and I have never seen fabric move and come alive in the way that Niv’s work has demonstrated – it’s absolutely breathtaking!”

Costume designer Belinda Pieris curated the outfits on show, including her own work as well as leading talents of Australian designers, soaring them to new heights, including Akira Isogawa, Con Ilio, Robyn Black, Gwendolynne and Georgia Chapman and our very own Jason Grech.
