Tickets for the Gozo channel ferry are being slashed to almost half price for the rest of July.

The announcement was made earlier today by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri in an attempt to encourage more tourism to the island.

The new scheme applies to both foreigners and locals and prices will be reduced drastically but only between 2.15pm and 12am from Monday to Thursday.

Passengers will pay €2.50 instead of €4.65 and vehicles will pay €8.50 instead of €15.70.

Part of the incentive is to attract people to Gozo not just over the weekend but across the week too.
