Yo, Have You Guys Seen This Insane Start To Maltese Women’s Football?

If you think Maltese football is for the most part incredibly underwhelming, you definitely haven’t seen the Women’s Under 19s League, which is fast becoming a thrilling goal-scoring frenzy.

Insane doesn’t even begin to describe the start to the U-19’s league which ended with 28 goals being scored on one day across just three matches.

Most incredibly is the fact that Swieqi United F.C. pummelled Mtarfa 11-0, recording three hat tricks and five different goalscorers.

Birkirkara F.C. also showed no mercy as they put nine up against Mġarr United with player Veronique Mifsud scoring five goals alone.

Mosta F.C. were saved from total embarrassment as they managed to find the net once against Raiders Għargħur…who returned the favour with seven goals.

Basically what I’m trying to say is that these scores are absolutely insane and quite possibly make the Women’s U-19’s league the most exhilarating and fun domestic football league to watch on the Maltese islands.

Not to mention the fact that Malta has some incredibly talented young female talent repping the red and white abroad in some high profile leagues, most notably 16-year-old Haley Bugeja who plays for Serie A side Sassuolo Femminile and had a historic debut with the Italian side.
