Pros Assemble! This Weekend’s Esports Tournament Is Offering Gamers The Chance To Represent Malta On An International Stage
As esports continues to dominate the world with tremendously high jackpots exceeding even the largest sporting events, Malta’s set to bring its own heat by choosing some of the island’s best gamers.
The Nova Series tournament is back this weekend and it offers more than just a cash prize and a trophy.
Winners of each game will have a chance to represent Malta on an international stage at the EU qualifiers for the ultimate chance to advance to the World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) and represent Malta at the grand final at Chongqing, China in 2020.
The latest edition of the grand finals, held last March, had over $2.5 million in prize money being given away to teams across eight different categories
The fifth edition of Nova Series will be the first national qualifiers, elevating the status of competitive esports in Malta and providing competitive gamers with the opportunity to compete side-by-side with the global elite.
Gamers will be able to compete in five tournaments:
- Hearthstone (PC)
- DOTA 2 (PC)
- PES19 (PS4)
- Tekken 7 (PS4)
- CS:GO (PC)
The Nova Series will be held at the InterContinental Arena Conference Centre, St. Julians between 2nd and 4th August.
Buy-in tickets are going for €15. For an extra €20 gamers have the option to reserve their PC/Laptop area for 3 days. Spectator entrance is free.
