Pet Monkey Runs Away From Iklin Home To Relax At A 5-Star Hotel In St. Julians

A pet monkey has done what we all dreamed we could as teenagers after he ran away from home last Friday night in search of greener pastures… or more likely yellower bananas.

Franco was found by the staff of the Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay after he climbed into the premises to sample the high life at the 5-star hotel. His adventure didn’t last as long as he’d have liked, and Franco’s worried parents were quickly called to pick him up.

Together with help from the Animal Ambulance team, Franco was asked to wait in his own, personal sitting room where he was fed plenty of bananas to keep him entertained.

Speaking to Lovin Malta, a representative from the hotel said “The Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay hopes he enjoyed his stay, and will leave us a 5-star review on Trip Advisor.”

Franco was reported missing last Friday, 13th April, and was seen in Madliena early Sunday morning. His owners have since posted a photo of him back home, safe and sound, while thanking everyone for their help.
