Maltese Masterpiece Or Absolute Abomination? Rare Custom Bus-Van Hybrid From The 80s Causes Online Shitstorm
Anyone of a certain age who’s grown up in Malta will fondly remember our stellar old bone-shaking buses. For us, seeing a miniature version in the form of “the amazing Maltese bread van” is a cute experience, though admittedly, a little strange. But when a 1980’s photo of this little guy surfaced in a forum of car fanatics who don’t share our familiarity with the old models, it’s fair to say they found it pretty bizarre.
Some of them absolutely loved it
Some were more conservative with their appreciation, but loved it nonetheless…
One guy even called it ‘The Peter Dinklage of vans’. And, to be honest, we can kind of see where he’s coming from…
Others? Not so much.
Oof.
Now this one’s just insulting…
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Christine, that’s referring to a 1980s-trashy-Stephen-King-era horror movie, about a possessed car that runs people down
And I wish I could say the horror movie references stopped there…
And some of them were just a little bit nuts…
It wouldn’t be the only forgotten Maltese car to be worth a potential fortune though; a Mosta showroom was reported to be sitting on a potential treasure trove a couple of years back…
Is that… what I think it is?
