A Maltese gamer has become the world’s first to reach level 60 on the popular online MMORP game, World of Warcraft, and he did it with 340k viewers watching his stream…

The Maltese gamer, known by his twitch name JokerdTV, reached max level at 8:40 pm on August 30th, just three days, 20 hours, and 40 minutes since WoW Classic’s release, including over 78 hours of straight streaming.

He beat the likes of Method, a major esports organisation who had 40 inhouse players attempting to reach max level first, and popular online streamers such as Asmongold.

As he was closing in on world first, news spread like wildfire in the gaming community, and his stream hit 340k concurrent viewers…

This video captures the historic moment when Jokerd finished off one final mob which caused him to level up to level 60.

The response from the online community was absolutely overwhelming with many flocking to the gnome mage to congratulate him on his achievement.

He also received a tonne of praise on social media, including influential esports journalist Rod Breslau…

… and local Maltese gaming organisation – gamers.com.mt

“As a Maltese esports organisation, we’re very proud of Jokerd achievements. What he managed to achieve yesterday, will forever be part of WoWs history and puts Malta in the spotlight,” said Andre Mizzi, Director of Sales and Marketing at Gamers.com.mt

“Until two days ago he was just a casual player, but yesterday he managed to impress everyone and surpass a lot of professional gamers who gets paid thousands in salaries per month – from zero to hero.”

“This is the power of esports & gaming – nor money neither fame are needed to make it to the top, just determination and skill!”

Jokerdblew past the competition and it could be at least a day before anyone else joins him at level 60.

He also tried to delete his character after but was blocked by game mechanics because he was receiving too much in-game fan mail.

This achievement is great for the esports community in Malta and goes to show that our players can compete amongst the very best, GZ Jokerd!
