We all know how hard it can be to find a genuinely good eatery that won’t break the bank, but it’s not impossible.

That’s why we decided to list some of the cheapest restaurants out there offering some genuinely good grub for under €10.

Oh, we’ve also taken the liberty to sort them all out by cuisine/dish. So next time hunger hits, all you need to do is give this list a quick read and bam – dinner’s sorted.

1. Pizza

Pizza Planet

Located right in the heart of Naxxar, Pizza Planet boasts a quasi never-ending selection of pizzas and grills. Even the pickiest of eaters will leave this restaurant satisfied.

Bargain dish: Pizza Margherita for €5.50

Martina’s Pizzeria

Any avid Bolt Food user will know about Martina’s Pizzeria. Showcasing what might be some of the cheapest pizza on the island, Martina’s Pizzeria also delivers to practically all localities around the island.

Bargain dish: Pizza Funghi for €6.50

2. Pasta

Olympic Bar (Xufi)

This one’s a cult classic. From breakfast and bread to pasta and meat, Xufi’s ready to cover every single meal of the day – and it’s all incredibly cheap.

Bargain dish: Spaghetti Bolognese for €4.80

Pasta & Co

If you’re looking for some delicious Italian-style fresh pasta, do yourself a favour and check out Pasta & Co. This restaurant’s also on some major delivery apps, putting you just a few taps away from your next saucy supper.

Bargain dish: Vegetarian Lasagne for €7.00

3. Indian

Namaste India

This place is making Buġibba Malta’s very own New Delhi. Open for both dine-in and takeaway, Namaste India also boasts a huge variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes. Delicious and cruelty-free.

Bargain dish: Tarka Daal for €5.50

TukTuk

If you look up the word ‘versatility’ in the dictionary, you’ll find a picture of TukTuk. This Indian eatery offers both quick snacks and full-on meals. So whether you want a delicious work lunch or a romantic anniversary dinner, think TukTuk.

Bargain dish: Paneer Naanwich for €7.60

4. Thai

Tikka’s Thai Street Food

Even some of the most unadventurous eaters will gush over Tikka’s. This place takes some of the best-loved Thai dishes and packs them chock-full with flavour – talk about real fast food.

Bargain dish: Massaman Curry & Rice for €8.00

JUFU Asian Restaurant

Two words – Asian fusion. JUFU takes some of the best Asian dishes out there and serves them up all in one place. So whether you feel like sushi, Thai, or a little bit of everything, check out JUFU.

5. Japanese

Yoshi Sushi

Any sushi-loving JC student knows about Yoshi – but this place does more than just sushi. Offering a huge variety of hot meaty, fishy, and vegetarian dishes, Yoshi’s the perfect midweek pick-me-up.

Bargain dish: Cucumber Roll for €1.30

Wasabi

Open practically all day at Sliema’s Plaza shopping complex, Wasabi vows to keep your tummy full whilst you go about your monthly shopping spree.

Bargain dish: Avocado Roll for €1.50

6. Sandwiches

The Submarine

This tiny Valletta sandwich shop certainly packs a punch. The Submarine stocks only the freshest of ingredients, so we’re not at all surprised that its got one of the highest TripAdvisor ratings in Malta.

Garnish

Great sandwiches aside, Garnish is probably one of the only restaurants in Malta that serves up bagels. Finish your breakfast off with one of their jam-filled doughnuts and you’re set for the day.

Danny’s

There’s just so much you can get at this restaurant – and it’s all so damn delicious. Every single dish served at Danny’s is homemade, yes, even the drinks. Try out Danny’s tuna ftira or roast beef sandwich and you’ll just keep going back for more.

7. Vegan

Choco Kebab Cafe

Comfort food, but make it vegan. This unsung hero is a saviour for all those vegans craving some meaty goodness – and from vegan spare ribs to fresh Buddha bowls, Choco Kebab Cafe does it all.

Ġugar

Ġugar is any hipster’s wet dream. The awesome team behind this iconic Valletta bar brings together craft beer, alternative music, and some genuinely good vegan snacks.

Bargain dish: Vegan Pizza Ftira for €3.50

8. Fish

Seashell Fish & Chip Shop

Bang in the middle of Buġibba, Seashell pays tribute to probably the most iconic British dish out there. Enjoyed by English expats and locals alike, Seashell brings the UK to Malta.

Bargain dish: Cod & Chips for €5.95

Fins & Gills

Fins & Gills is revolutionising the whole fish and chips game. Whilst, of course, serving up the traditional battered cod, this St Paul’s Bay eatery often fries up some less conventional sea critters.

Bargain dish: Freshly Grilled Salmon for €8.50

Le Poisson

This place is both a fishmonger and a take-out joint – and it does both perfectly. Le Poisson in Bormla practically cooks the food it’s selling, so you know you’re getting the freshest fish out there.

9. Maltese

Museum Cafe

An old Maltese coffee shop serving traditional dishes in the heart of our capital – does it get more local than this? Museum Cafe often serves up daily specials that range from classic Maltese bakes to interesting takes on international dishes.

Bargain dish: Ross Il-Forn for €4.75

Maxokk

It’s not really a Gozo trip without a Maxokk dinner. This quaint eatery practically revolutionised the pizza we all know and love by creating the locally-renowned Maxokk ftira. It doesn’t get much more traditional than this.

Bargain dish: Maxokk Ftira for €6.50

10. Breakfast

Stanjata

This place practically invented the word ‘chic’. Stanjata’s open practically all-day-long, but today we’re focusing on its awesome breakfast. Get your hands on some of their decadent French toast and get an American for just €1.

Marelli Cafe

Eggs for breakfast? Marelli invented that. Okay maybe we’re exaggerating, but point is, Marelli Cafe has some damn good egg breakfast dishes – and you can get them delivered straight to your door!
